Winning the Internet

How to get your Content Seen: Now.

After a great run, the Winning the Internet blog has been retired. However, you can still keep in touch with New Media Mentors here.

Unknown-1With the time and work that goes into producing online content, we all want it to be seen and shared on social networks, blog posts and any other platform that gets to the people we want to reach.

This blog post, by Jay Love, co founder and CEO of Bloomerang, is based on a study analyzing “100 million articles” – and points out how to do just that.

Great images, of course need to be part of the mix. But there are other elements, which are key to success.

Emotions rule – yes you know about story telling and tapping into how people feel, but the graph in the post points out which of those emotions rise to the top. That would be awe, laughter and amusement.

Lists and info-graphics trump other content. Likely because they are easier to read and digest, itemizing 1 to 5 or 10 salient points and good (note: good) info-graphics perform very well on social media.

Tuesday is the day to post. This finding may need some testing on your end, but worth trying out.

In any case, there is great stuff here.  Worth a read. And worth testing to see how it works for you.
